THE DEFINITION OF FAILURE FROM JIM ROHN

This last week I listened to a four hour plus seminar from Jim Rohn on YouTube.
The title, “How to Have The Best Year Ever” - 4 Hour Video on Personal Development Life Coaching.
It’s phenomenal. I took 2 full pages of notes. And should have taken more!
Rohn was a legend for a reason. His delivery was classic, refined, humorous, and simple to absorb.
While talking about his “Five Fundamentals” he dropped simple definitions of failure and success:
Failure - “A few errors in judgement repeated every day over time.”
Success - “A few simple disciplines practiced every day over time.”
Simple, yet profound.
One can begin today moving from point A to point B just through not repeating errors in judgment each day, and practicing a few simple disciplines each day.
Examples of daily errors in judgement leading to failure:
Scrolling too much on social media
Spending too many nights watching Netflix and not learning or reading
Not moving, walking or performing basic exercises each day
Not saving money for the future to build wealth
Smoking or Drinking too much
Examples of practicing a few simple disciplines for success each day:
Diet change - Rohn said, “eat the apple.”
Move - Rohn suggested “take a walk.”
Read meaningful books on wealth, health, philosophy, history, & spirituality
Journal
Learn: attend classes, take courses, watch educational videos

I encourage you to watch the full video to better understand the context. But, do it in segments. After all, it’s 4:22:37 long.
Here’s a few more notes from the video I jotted down on Personal Development…
What you have you’ve attracted by the person you’ve become.
You are paid for bringing value to the market place (reality). It takes time to bring value, but we don’t get paid for time. We get paid for value.
Learn to work harder on yourself than your job.
If you wish to be wealthy, study wealth
If you wish to be happy, study happiness
Rohn also suggested developing the following Five Abilities
The Ability to Absorb: pay attention to the world around you.
The Ability to Respond: let emotions strike you—be happy, be sad.
The Ability to Reflect: go over each day, week, month, and year. Remember.
The Ability to Act: when the idea is fresh and emotion is strong, act.
The Ability to Share: pour out your knowledge so that you can refill.
Finally, I’ll leave you with Jim Rohn’s philosophy on Goals and Goal Setting which I absolutely love!
Here’s how Rohn defined goals: Your vision of the future.
Rohn said, decide what you want. Write it down. That’s goal setting.
Rohn then suggested, set the kind of goals that will make something of you to achieve them.
For example, become a deca-millionaire.
