ON GRATITUDE & SUCCESS

We all know practicing gratitude is good for our mental health, but can it actually help us reach our goals?

I finished reading Be Your Future Self Now by Dr. Benjamin Hardy, and I must say it’s one of my favorite self improvement reads this year! I highly recommend you purchase this book if you have goals you would like to achieve in the new year.

In the chapter titled, Elevate from Needing to Wanting to Knowing, Hardy addresses gratitude:

“Gratitude is powerful when expressed for what has already occurred. It’s also extremely powerful when you express proactive gratitude for what you want in the future. Gratitude elevates from wanting to knowing.”

In an interview with Napoleon Hill, who wrote my favorite personal growth book of all time, “Think & Grow Rich,” Hill stated the following about gratitude:

I believe gratitude is indeed a vital component of positive thinking. In ‘Think & Grow Rich,’ I talk about the importance of having a burning desire and unwavering faith. Gratitude can strengthen that faith.

When we are grateful, we reinforce our belief that the universe is abundant and supportive. This, in turn, boosts our positive thinking. It's a symbiotic relationship. Positive thinking helps us set and pursue our goals, while gratitude keeps us grounded and appreciative of our progress, no matter how small.

Pam Grout inspired by Napoleon Hill wrote “Thank & Grow Rich, A 30-Day Experiment in Shameless Gratitude and Unabashed Joy,” said the following:

I believe that true success is inherently tied to contributing to the greater good. When we achieve personal success, we have the opportunity and responsibility to use our resources and influence to make a positive impact. Gratitude naturally leads to a desire to give back and help others.

This can take many forms, such as sharing our knowledge, volunteering, or supporting causes we believe in. By integrating our personal goals with a commitment to the greater good, we create a ripple effect of positivity and abundance. This not only enhances our own fulfillment but also helps to build a more compassionate and connected world.

If we are to live our best lives, healthy, wealthy and wise, starting from a place of gratitude is how we get there.
